Youth Action For Open Governance & Accountability

A Capacity Building Initiative Targeting to Nurture a New Generation of Young Leaders Who Actively Participate and Influence Development Processes and Outcomes in Different Development Sectors Including Devolved County Governments, Mining Development Agreement Committee Projects and Other Extractives Sector Community Projects.

Establish YAOGA Citizen Councils in the Counties, Empower them with Knowledge and Skills on Development Processes, Monitoring and Evaluation, Including Facilitation of Actual Social Accountability Activities in the Field, to Generate Reports that can be shared with CDACs, Extractives Sector Investors, Ministry of Mining, Respective County Assemblies, Council of Governors, Senators and other Key Community Development Stakeholders.

Through the YAOGA Citizen Councils’ Quarterly Reporting Program, Create a Platform for Sharing of Success Stories from the Extractives Sector and County Government Community Projects and Programs, Pick Lessons and Reflect on Challenges and Obstacles to Maximization of Benefits for Economic Empowerment of Grassroots Communities. In the End Allow for Replication and Up Scaling of the Best Models Picked both from the County Governments and the Extractives Sector.
